I can remember the day, quite vividly infact. The sky was as clear and blue as I have ever seen. The breeze was warm and the sun shined down on the people as they prayed. My eyes were closed, my lips were still but inside my heart was racing. I could read the people's prayers and feel the warmth of their sorrow. The tears were not that of joy, but of loss and compassion. I stood in the back, still able to hear the prayers, and lived that last moment on Earth seeing the people I loved the most drown in the loss of another innocent life. |
